OPEN LAKE FORECAST FOR LAKE SUPERIOR
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
356 PM EDT THU OCT 16 2014

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON LAKE SUPERIOR

.SYNOPSIS...A 29.5 INCH LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE SLOWLY INTO SOUTHWEST
QUEBEC THIS EVENING AS A WEAK 29.7 INCH HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE CROSSES
LAKE SUPERIOR. ANOTHER 29.5 INCH LOW OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS WILL
THEN TRACK ACROSS THE UPPER LAKES TONIGHT BEFORE MERGING WITH THE
QUEBEC LOW ON FRIDAY. THIS WILL CAUSE THE SYSTEM TO DEEPEN TO
29.2 INCHES WHILE IT MOVES TO NEAR JAMES BAY LATE IN THE DAY. AS
THIS LOW DRIFTS ACROSS NORTHERN QUEBEC THROUGH SUNDAY AND WEAKENS TO
29.4 INCHES...EXPECT A 30.3 INCH HIGH PRESSURE OVER SOUTH CENTRAL
CANADA TO DROP SOUTH INTO THE UPPER GREAT LAKES REGION.
MONDAY...THE HIGH WILL MOVE INTO THE MID ATLANTIC STATES...ALLOWING A
29.8 INCH LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TO TRACK SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE UPPER
GREAT LAKES. THIS LOW WILL SINK TO THE LOWER GREAT LAKES TUESDAY WHILE
THE NEXT RIDGE AVERAGING 30.2 INCHES BUILDS ACROSS LAKE SUPERIOR.
