Weather Summary for Western and North Central New York
National Weather Service Buffalo NY
345 AM EST Fri Jan 12 2018

A deep southerly flow found between high pressure off the New
England coast and low pressure over Upper Michigan will provide our
region with continued warm temperatures and rain this morning. This
will result in a substantial meltdown of our extensive
snowpack...that when accompanied by the rain will continue rises on
area tributaries and potentially some ice jam flooding. A cold front
will cross the region this afternoon and rain will transition to
sleet, freezing rain and snow. Snow will continue tonight and into
Saturday morning and the region will be back to colder weather for
the weekend.
