Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
1049 AM EDT Sun May 26 2024

Past 24 hour precipitation...
Heavy rain totaling one to two inches fell along the Ohio-Pennsylvania
border. In the Monongahela River basin in northern West Virginia, storms
brought as much as four inches of rain to the rocky mountaintop.

Forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours...
Basin average rainfall is forecast to range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches.
Rainfall totals exceeding 0.75 of an inch are expected to be confined
to the Allegheny Basins. Expect rainfall amounts to be
higher in and around thunderstorms.

River trends...
The smaller streams that flow into our main-stem rivers will experience
significant increases due to runoff, but the rivers themselves will only
fluctuate by one to two feet above the current levels measured at 7 am.
