...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN MECKLENBURG...
SOUTHEASTERN GASTON AND NORTHEASTERN YORK COUNTIES THROUGH 1015 PM
EDT...
At 949 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles south of Gastonia, or 4 miles northeast of Clover, moving east
at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Clover, Steele Creek, Carowinds, Lake Wylie, Southwest Charlotte,
South Gastonia, Charlotte Douglas Airport, Tega Cay, Belmont, and
Crowders.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
