Weather Summary for Western and North Central New York
National Weather Service Buffalo NY
351 PM EST Tue Dec 5 2017

Deep low pressure over Northern Ontario will push a strong cold front
through our region through early this evening...with lingering rain
across the North Country and portions of the Finger Lakes Region
tapering off following its passage. Colder air sweeping into the
region behind the front will then allow some areas of lake effect
snow to set up northeast of Lakes Erie and Ontario later tonight and
Wednesday...however these will likely remain rather weak through a
good portion of Wednesday. More significant lake snows will then
develop east of the lakes later Wednesday afternoon and evening...
then will persist through Thursday night before pushing northward
and falling apart on Friday. Outside of the main lake effect areas...
it will simply turn colder for the rest of the week with only a few
scattered light snow showers at times.
