...Cool Today then a Warming Trend...

.SHORT TERM...(Today and tonight)

A storm system will makes it way to the east today but lingering
clouds and cooler temperatures will follow in its wake. Some
light rain and drizzle will persist into the morning across
southern Missouri. Highs today will remain in the 40s at most

Clouds will linger tonight as disturbances track southeastward
through a northwesterly flow aloft.

.LONG TERM...(Wednesday through Monday)

Improving weather conditions will begin Wednesday as surface high
pressure builds into the region.

A warming trend will begin in Earnest Thursday into Friday as
southerly winds return and upper level ridge expands eastward.
Highs will climb back into the 60s Thursday and Friday with 70s
possible Saturday. This southerly flow will also result in
increasing moisture by the end of the week.

The increasing moisture levels will interact with a low pressure
system that will track from the Plains into the Midwest later
Friday into Saturday to bring at least a chance of showers. The
greater chances look to be east of the Ozarks. The unsettled
pattern looks to continue Sunday and Monday as an upper level
trough transitions eastward from the Rockies. The details on the
evolution of this system remain uncertain but expect at least a
chance of showers and perhaps some thunder this weekend.


.AVIATION...(For the 06Z TAFS through 06Z Tuesday night)

Pilots flying in and out of the southwest Missouri airports can
expect IFR conditions through the overnight period.

Low ceilings and obstructions to visibilities were ongoing in
response to an exiting upper level storm system.
