560 FZUS61 KBUF 270144 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 944 PM EDT Sun May 26 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 30.0 inch high will slide eastward across the Canadian Maritimes overnight. Meanwhile a 29.5 inch low will track northeast into Michigan tonight while sending its warm front through the lakes. This low will then deepen to 29.4 inches while heading off into southeast Ontario on Monday while dragging a cold front through the lakes. The low will begin to weaken Monday night as it tracks northeast across Quebec through the day Tuesday. A 30.3 inch high centered over the Hudson Bay will begin to build southward Tuesday night through Wednesday night, then across the Great Lakes Thursday and Friday.
