Avery-Yancey-Mitchell-Caldwell Mountains-Burke Mountains-
McDowell Mountains-
Including the cities of Ingalls, Banner Elk, Newland, Swiss,
Burnsville, Celo, Micaville, Ramseytown, Busick,
Mount Mitchell State Park, Spruce Pine, Poplar, Patterson,
Jonas Ridge, Ashford, Sugar Hill, Woodlawn, and Old Fort

Cold temperatures will filter into the area from the north
overnight. Temperatures will fall to around freezing across the
northern Blue Ridge area of North Carolina. Patchy rain and
drizzle will continue overnight as well. The combination will
create the potential for patchy freezing rain or drizzle along and
near the Blue Ridge of the northern mountains and northern
foothills. Significant ice accumulations are not expected.
However, very light accumulations could develop on elevated
surfaces leading to the potential for isolated slippery
