214 AM MST Fri Jan 13 2017

.SHORT TERM...(Today Through Saturday Night)
Issued at 212 AM MST Fri Jan 13 2017

Current surface map places arctic high across the eastern Dakotas
into Minnesota with trof across Montana and Wyoming. Back edge of
snow moving through south central South Dakota. Snow will end
early this morning. Rest of the day will be mostly sunny for the
forecast area. Low level warm advection will push highs in the
lower 30s for the higher elevations of northeast Wyoming into the
Black Hills. Dry weather will continue into Saturday with
temperatures a few degrees warmer.

.LONG TERM...(Sunday Through Thursday)
Issued at 212 AM MST Fri Jan 13 2017

Upper pattern will become zonal Sunday as surface high
pressure remains in control across the Dakotas. A strong storm
system will cross the southern to central plains Sunday and Monday.
This system will stay south and east of the area...however the edge
of snow may briefly clip Tripp County Sunday night into Monday
morning. Otherwise dry weather is expected across the region through
at least the first half of next week as low amplitude ridging sets
up across the region. Temperatures will generally be near seasonal
averages.
