.SHORT TERM...(Today Through Tuesday Night)
Issued at 231 AM MDT Mon Sep 19 2016

Current surface map places high pressure ridge across southern
Montana into western South Dakota. A few showers located from the
Black Hills into north central South Dakota. Showers will push
east of the forecast area early this morning. High pressure
builds across the for today. Another weak wave tracks across the
area tonight which may result in isolated showers from the Black
Hills into northwest South Dakota. Flat upper ridge builds across
the northern plains on Tuesday. With plenty of sunshine, highs
will be in the 80s for much of the forecast area.

.LONG TERM...(Wednesday Through Sunday)
Issued at 231 AM MDT Mon Sep 19 2016

With 850mb high pressure to the north and low pressure
to the south, cooler air will be pushed into the CWA on
Wednesday. Highs will range from the upper 60s across northwestern
SD to the lower 80s across south central SD. Chances for precip
return Wednesday night, as mid-level moisture increases and a weak
wave moves over the area.

A Pacific Northwest upper low will slowly approach the region
towards the end of the week, bringing significant moisture to the
region. There are still model differences; however, it still looks
like a good chance of showers/storms Thurs/Fri, with a mostly dry
weekend.
