.UPDATE...
Please see the 18Z aviation forecast discussion below.

.AVIATION...
Cigs continue to lift/scatter, with VFR in store through the
afternoon and evening hours. Low cloud development will occur along
I-35 beginning 05-07Z, with cigs initially low end MVFR. While there
could be some potential for brief IFR, confidence is too low to
mention in the current forecast. Cigs will trend upward by mid to
late morning as daytime heating and mixing begins to increase. At
DRT, low clouds should return a little later, with MVFR expected
between 11-17Z.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 244 AM CDT Fri Jun 11 2021/

SHORT TERM (Today through Saturday)...
Status Quo for today into Saturday. Subtropical ridging centered
nearby maintains a dry subsident airmass aloft with no rain
expected. Surface low pressure in the Great Plains maintains a humid
south-southeasterly lower level flow off the warm Gulf of Mexico and
its sea surface temperatures in the mid 80s. We`ll see the typical
night into morning low clouds with plenty of afternoon sunshine.
Temperatures will be within a few degrees of normal with afternoon
heat index values only mildly elevated.

LONG TERM (Saturday Night through Thursday)...
The ridge keeps maintains dominance through Monday, continuing dry
and warm conditions. Monday night into Tuesday, the ridge shifts
slightly west as a weak boundary makes its way into the state. This
weakness will allow some low rain chances back into the forecast for
the eastern zones. Otherwise, there is little to no significant
change to the long term, for now.
