The mid and upper level high that has been dominating our weather
for the last few days will break down and re-develop over the Great
Basin by Saturday.

An upper level short wave trough will move southeast across southern
Colorado and northern New Mexico by Saturday afternoon. This
disturbance coupled with plenty of low level moisture should help to
spark some showers and thunderstorms near the Raton Mesa area. These
should then spread into the Panhandles on the weak northwest flow

The upper level disturbance will hang around the Panhandles through
about Tuesday before high pressure builds back over the area.

Showers and thunderstorms will probably a daily occurrence Sunday
through Tuesday given the lift from the upper level system. Low
level moisture will be there to help fuel the showers and
thunderstorms. Also, there may be some boundaries around the area
which may also help to focus more organized areas of showers and

High temperatures will likely go below normal Sunday and then they
may finally get back above normal by Wednesday.
