An upper level ridge of high pressure will persist over the
southern plains through early Saturday before temporarily
reorienting itself west to around the Great Basin region later
Saturday into early next week. This translates to dry weather and
continued above normal temperatures today through early Saturday.

As both the center and axis of the upper level ridge of high
pressure redevelops westward later this weekend into early next
week, the threat of showers and tstms will increase across the OK
and TX Panhandles Saturday afternoon through Monday as a minor
upper level shortwave affects the area. It appears the greatest
threat of precipitation will occur Saturday night through Monday
before diminishing in areal coverage Monday night and Tuesday.
Slight chance pops for Wednesday and Wednesday night were
restricted to the far western sections for this package as medium
range models are not in the best agreement as to where the upper
level ridge of high pressure will migrate to during the middle of
next week. Temperatures for Sunday through Tuesday will trend
toward seasonal normals due to more cloud cover and possible
